(Featuring Beijing, Xi’an, Wuhan, and Shanghai)
Date: October 23rd, 2008 – November 4th, 2008
May 1st, 2008
Dear CCIM friends:
The China CCIM Chapter would like to invite you to the CCIM Real Estate Trade Mission 2008 to China from October 23 to November 4, 2008. The purpose of this trade mission, like the previous ones, is to understand the development of China’s commercial real estate business, to learn about the Chinese business culture, to make business relationship with members of the China CCIM Chapter, and to find business opportunities in this huge developing market.
This is the 4th successivetrade mission since it began in 2005. In the past three years, CCIMs from U.S. and Canada enjoyed the mission and witnessed the commercial real estate development in Beijing, Shanghai, and other cities. This year we will take you to Wuhan, a city standing in the center of China and a second line city with more attractive investment opportunities.
The 2008 Summer Olympic Games bring some new features to Beijing. Besides the great culture and history, you will see unique architecture by world-renowned architects. Of course, you will also see the ancient city of Xian with the famous Terra-Cotta Warriors, the Yangtze River in Wuhan, and the modern city of Shanghai. You will meet members of the China CCIM Chapter in these cities and learn from them about the commercial real estate industry in China. For all the above reasons, we would like to invite our CCIM members in North America to join our CCIM Real Estate Trade Mission 2008 tour to China.
Please reference “2008 CCIM Trade Mission” for more detail information. If you have any questions please email Stephen Pang, Chairman of International Affairs Committee of the China CCIM Chapter, at cciminternational@ccimchina.com or call him at 86-13718465422.

The Forbidden City
Rich in history, Beijing has been China's primary capital for more than seven centuries. China's imperial past and political present meet at Tiananmen square, where the Forbidden City palace of the emperors gives way to the Great Hall of the People congress building and the mausoleum of Chairman Mao Zedong . The old city walls have been replaced by ring roads, and many of the old residential districts of alleys and courtyard houses have been turned into high-rise hotels, office buildings, and department stores. Beijing, a dynamic city where the old and new intermingle, remains a magnet for visitors from inside and outside China.

Oct. 28 - 29Xi’an
Surrounded by rich loess farmland, Xi'an (Western Peace), the present capital of Shanxi Province, was home to the ruling houses of the Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang dynasties, when it was known as Chang'an (Eternal Peace)
Many of the sites to visit are outside Xi'an and the surrounding countryside offers a treasure trove of historical and religious relics. The most famous site is the Terracotta Army, built to protect the Emperor Qin Shi Huang, whose Mausoleum lies close the warriors. Both these sights are to the east of Xi'an.
There are other less famous but equally fascinating places worth visiting too. The Famen Temple claims to house the Buddha's fingers and still draws crowds of practicing monks (and tourists) to marvel at the fingers and the Tang dynasty treasures which are kept here. The countryside around Xi'an is also attractive and there are numerous mountains, including Mount Huashan which are a great break from the city.
Aside from being a major tourist destination and historical city, today Xi'an is an important industrial and manufacturing center. Despite the incredible history that Xi'an carries, it is a modern and prosperous area. The nightlife here is pretty up to date and Xian's University is considered to be one of the best in China.

Wuhan, located at the confluence of the Changjiang and Hanjiang Rivers is the capital of Hubei province. It is most famous for its lakes. In fact, it is called “the town of one thousand lakes" because once one reaches the east side of Wuhan, they may feel as if the lakes are endless. Yellow Crane Tower
Wuhan is a city with both an old history and a thriving present. Artifacts excavated from ancient tombs date as far back as 3,500 years. In the period of pre-Qing (770 B.C. - 221 B.C.), it was known as the cradle of the brilliant Chu Civilization. During the Qing Dynasty Hankou district became one of the four most well-known towns in China. Hankou city has been the center of trade in central China for centuries.
There are many tourist attractions in Wuhan that are worth a visit including East Lake, Changjiang River and Changjiang Bridges 1 and 2. Wuchang and Hanyang are linked by this great bridge, no.1, which is more than 1300 meters long and 80 meters high.
It is the largest economic and trade centre in the country and a comprehensive industrial base. Shanghai Port is the leading port in China. It is an open city along the coast, as well as a famous historical and cultural city. Industry and commerce are flourishing. As a world famous international port, Shanghai is a gateway in East China for developing tourist trade. Shanghai's history of revolution and culture attract tourists home and abroad. Being regarded as "Paris of China" and as the paradise for shopping, Shanghai has become an ideal city for tourism.
